Der Name Cardhu stammt aus dem Gälischen und bedeutet "Schwarzer Fels".
Die Brennerei liegt in Tal des Flusses Spey, durch ein Joch von der Straße abgeschirmt, dicht bei dem Geheimnis ihres Erfolges - dem eiskalten, frischen Gebirgsquellwasser. Eben dieses Wasser hat Jahrhunderte lang den einzigartigen, besonderen Charakter des Cardhu Single Malt Whiskys bewahrt.
Bis zum heutigen Tage wird dieser Whisky immer noch genauso sorgfältig und unverändert hergestellt, bevor er für mindestens zwölf Jahre in alten Eichenfässern reift.

The name Cardhu is Gaelic and means "Black rock".
Cardhu Distillery is built on the side of the Spey Valley, hidden from the road by a fold in the hill, close to the secret of its success - the icy cold, fresh mountain spring water. It is this water that, over the centuries, has ensured the special, distinctive character of Cardhu Single Malt whisky.
To this day, the whole art of distilling  is unhurried, and unchanging, and Cardhu whisky is still matured for at least twelve years in old, oak casks.
