Die vor der Nordspitze des schottischen Festlandes liegenden Orkney Inseln haben nur noch zwei Brennereien, von denen Highland Park die wichtigste ist. Scapa ist seit 1994 geschlossen und produziert nur noch einmal pro Jahr, um alle Jahrgänge in den Lagerhäusern vor zu halten.

Pulteney habe ich in diese Karte mit aufgenommen, da diese Brennerei näher an den Orkneys als an den Brennereien der nördlichen Highlands liegt. Von der Einordnung gehört Pulteney jedoch zu den Nördlichen Highlands.

The Orkney Islands are situated close to the most northern rock of the mainland. Only two distilleries are left on the islands. Highland Park is the more important one;  Scapa is closed since 1994 and produces only once a year to keep all vintages present.

I have included Pulteney on this map, because it is situated closer to the Orkneys than to the other distilleries of the Northern Highlands.
